Working to support patients and improve local health services

PALS is a confidential service that helps patients, their families and carers to find answers to questions or concerns regarding the care or treatment they receive from NHS Trusts in Lincolnshire.  Lincolnshire PALS will work with you to deal with any questions or concerns you may have about health services provided by:

Lincolnshire Teaching Primary Care Trust
United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust
Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust

What PALS can do for you:

Offer advice and support to patients, their families and carers

Help you get the information you need about local health services for example: how to find a GP or a dentist or contact numbers for local health services

Help to sort out concerns or problems quickly on your behalf in an informal, friendly manner by liaising with staff, management and other organisations

Help you to find local support groups and voluntary services

Use patient experience to help shape and improve local health services

Provide advice if you want to make a formal complaint

What to do if you have a concern or complaint

If you or your relatives have concerns about any aspects of care or treatment received, you should speak to a staff member of the service or organisation involved.  If you have tried this and you feel they cannot help or you are not comfortable talking to them, contact PALS on 0845 602 4384 as soon as possible.

With your permission we can talk to staff, management and other organisations on your behalf to try and resolve your concerns 

If you still are not satisfied with the response you receive and you wish to make a formal complaint, PALS can give you information about the appropriate complaints procedure and where to seek specialist advice or independent advocacy.  PALS do not replace the NHS Complaints procedure.

Confidentiality

We may need to collect personal information from you in order to provide the best possible service but will always ask your permission before personal information is discussed with others.  Only in exceptional cases where your safety or that of others must be considered will we have to pass on information without your permission, we will always tell you if we have to do this.  Speaking to PALS will not compromise the care you or your relatives receive.

The Leg Club has being formed under the umbrella of the Lindsay Leg Club Foundation. Leg Clubs provide community based treatment, health promotion, education and ongoing care for people of all age groups, experiencing leg-related problems. Leg Club staff work in partnership with patients (members) and the local community. Working to best practice guidelines, they provide a high standard of care in a social, friendly setting that promotes empathy, peer support and informed choice. The overall aim is to have Healthy Legs for Life.

The club is open Wednesdays every week from 9.30a.m - 12 noon in Coronation Hall so if you have a leg problem and live in the Woodhall Spa district please come along.

If you are interested in joining the very active group of volunteers who fund raise, make the refreshments and welcome visitors please join us, have a cup of coffee or buy one of our second hand books and see how we work. There is a very friendly atmosphere and it is all very worthwhile.

For all your doctor or hospital medical appointments - call us anytime

We can provide car transport from home to destination and return for all medical appointments to GPO doctors surgeries or hospital clionics. Also visits to chiropodist, optician, or dentist.

Costs:

The charge is £4 for a round trip of up to 10 miles (Thereafter 40p per mile)

If on income support you may be able to claim money from the hospital. If it does not cover the full amount you must make up the difference.
