First
Responders are community volunteers trained and equipped to provide
Basic Life Support and/or Defibrillation, after being called out
by Ambulance Control, to patients suffering:
cardiac
arrest
breathing difficulty and choking
collapse
chest pain
Further
training can later be taken to become an Intermediate Responder
which enables Responders to attend people who have suffered burns,
falls, road accidents and children under 12, including babies. |
