Cornwall Terrace

Woodhall Spa Heritage Trail Heritage Trail Location 12 - Cornwall Terrace (work in progress)

Cornwall Terrace

Photo 1 – A view of Cornwall Terrace (pre 1898) from the southwest taken from Tattershall Road. The gates of the railway crossing can be seen on the left and teh Royal Hotel complex just beyond on the right hand side of the road (postcard from the Webmaster's collection).

Cornwall Terrace is an Adolphus Came design in the 'Queen Anne' style.

During the 2nd World War Mr.and Mrs.Harriman (owners of the Teahouse in the Woods) lived in number 2. It was badly damaged by the parachute mine which hit the adjacent Royal Hotel and it had to be rebuilt. The Harrimans wanted to take the opportunity to modernise the property, but Government regulations of the time dictated that it was rebuilt exactly as before.
