Our Priorities
Here are the top priorities you've asked us to tackle in this area:
Conningsby & Tattershall:At the Meeting of the Panel on 18th Nov 09 the Panel set 1 Priority for the coming period:
Attention to the Market Place, Tattershall - complaints of youths causing nuisance and cars being used anti-socially.
The Panel decided that there were no further issues that they wanted to be put as priorities’, as such just the one priority was set.
Woodhall Spa: None currently set....So what issues are we tackling?
Anti Social Behaviour: We work tirelessly to ensure Anti Social Behaviour in our communities does not go unanswered and following on from all complaints we receive where offenders have been identified we have, in the last few weeks, issued thirteen 1st stage Unacceptable Behaviour Warning Letters and two 2nd stage letters. This is kept on file and forms part of the Anti Social Behaviour process and can be used in the Civil Courts to file for Anti Social Behaviour Orders (ASBO’S)
Speeding: As part of our continuing work with the community and our Parish Council a further four areas have been identified as areas of concern.
These areas are Horncastle Road at Roughton Moor, Main Street at Kirkby on Bain, Abbey Lane between Kirkstead and Witham Road and Green Lane Woodhall Spa.
All locations have been put forward for Archers Surveys.
We shall post the results here once the surveys have been carried out and analyzed.
Action and Follow Up - Recently addressed concerns Halloween: As part of our proactive approach to tackling Anti Social Behaviour we had dedicated patrols at various locations throughout Tattershall and Coningsby for the duration of the evening until 2am in the morning.
We are pleased to say there were no incidents of Anti Social Behaviour on the night.
Our partners at the CCTV (CATS) base did direct us to a group in School Lane Coningsby where two males were seen using their scooters in an Anti Social Manner that lead to both males being issued Section 59 warning notices for their behaviour.
Arson in Coronation Woods: Following several incidents of arson attack in Woodhall Spa, the Beat Team have identified those persons responsible and have issued unacceptable behaviour warning letters in unison with East Lindsey District Councils anti-social behaviour team. We also worked closely with the Arson Task Force and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue in the run up to bonfire night as part of Not In My Neighbourhood Week educating local youths on the dangers of fireworks and forestry fires.
Speeding... Following on from complaints from local residents regarding speeding within our villages we requested Archers Surveys to be carried out at key locations. This was to provide a much clearer picture in relation to speeding. The Archers Survey consists of a strip of metal being placed across the road, at the chosen location, which monitors the amount of traffic using that road and measures accurately the speed of those vehicles. There were 5 locations chosen and the results that were gathered showed that although there were incidents of speeding, there was not a big problem within our community. We continue to work closely with the Parish Council and the Highways Agency to have Speed reduction signs/posters put up throughout our villages, particularly on approach to schools and in areas that have been highlighted as hot-spots.
Vehicle ASB... The beat team have to date issued a total of 50 section 59 notices to those using their vehicles anti-socially, with a total of 8 seizures for secondary offences. We continually strive to reduce all incidents of vehicle ASB by educating and enforcing drivers about section 59 legislation.
Parking outside school’s …… Liaison with school head teachers’ lead to a small article being published in school newsletters and letters were sent home via pupils. This highlighted the dangers of parking vehicles, which were causing obstructions, outside of schools and how this would be tackled by way of fixed penalty notice where repeat offenders were recognised. This and regular patrols has lead to a big decline in complaints and offenders. So far the team have issued 5 parking tickets for repeat offenders.
