| 2006 - A summary |
| |
During 2006 the Committee was principally involved with:
Obtaining and updating existing
lists of gravestones of St. Andrews churchyard, Woodhall
Spa and St. Leonard’s churchyard,
Kirkstead, and producing plans accordingly. Also producing graveyard
plans for St. Mary’s Old Woodhall and the Presbyterian
Chapel in Mill Lane, Woodhall Spa. Some of this work was
a collaborative effort with the Woodhall
Spa Cottage Museum.
As the parish of Woodhall Spa includes
Kirkstead, the committee also collaborated with
Woodhall Spa Cottage Museum to expand the photographic record
of Kirkstead and Kirkstead Wharfs (Mill Lane).
The ELDC Conservation Officer also visiting to outline the criteria for listing buildings.
A decision was taken to produce a leaflet for the Spa
Trail walk and a source of funding was investigated.
To accompany the leaflet, various sites around the village were identified for new heritage trail noticeboards. Work to identify a suitable design for the boards commenced.
The main efforst of the Committee were devoted to investigating what could be done
to save the heritage of the Woodhall Spa - Spa
Baths.
See 2007 for more detail.
A registration form was designed to enable members of the public to record the buildings
and artefacts important to the heritage of Woodhall Spa.
In 2006 the group was comprised of 10
members.
